Monthly Facial Benefits

We have found that many people do not understand the benefits that a bespoke professional facial can offer. As skin care experts, it is our duty to fill you in. Many people will wait until they have a skin concern (ie. breakouts, dry itchy skin, dark spots, etc.) or have an upcoming special event before coming in for a facial. While this is totally fine, these frustrating problems may be avoided by proper monthly facials and counselling on the correct at-home products.

MONTHLY FACIALS

Your skin is always on display and can have the power to dictate how good we feel about ourselves. Investing in proper skincare has a value that can be arguably more important than buying a new dress or going out to a fancy restaurant or even taking an expensive vacation (we try and make our clients feel like a facial is a mini-vacation).

Monthly facials are ideal. However if you have a specific skin concern (ie. acne, hyperpigmentation, etc), then you may need to come in for a series of treatments more frequently.  Your stratum corneum (the outermost layer of skin) completely renews itself approximately every 28 days. So monthly facial act as a headstart to healthier skin cells with each renewal cycle.

Facials at Connected are fully customized to address your unique concerns and goals. They are the perfect accompaniment to your home care routine and the work done with your Naturopathic Doctor.

7 BENEFITS OF MONTHLY FACIALS

1. DEEP CLEANING & DETOXIFICATION

Our skin is exposed to more pollutants in the air than most people recognize. Over time, the toxins accumulate on the skin and contribute to breakouts and inflammation. Although you may cleanse and wash your face daily, monthly facials are beneficial because they deep clean, promote lymphatic drainage and refresh your skin.

2. EXFOLIATION & PROFESSIONAL EXTRACTIONS

Monthly facials have many benefits for skin exfoliation and cleansing. Exfoliating your skin unclogs the pores on a deeper level than just cleaning it at home. It allows deep penetration of skincare products by shedding off dirt, dead skin cells, and excess oils. In addition, we only recommend extractions be done by professionals when the skin has been properly prepped.

3. CIRCULATION & LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Facials involve a gentle or even vigorous massage. This relaxing process relieves the tension from your body, while improving the blood flow around your face. Improved blood circulation stimulates the lymphatic vessels and detoxifies your skin. It also promotes the production of collagen, which can smooth fine lines and prevent wrinkling.

4. ABSORPTION

Regular facials will increase your skin’s absorption abilities. If your skin’s surface is too rough, cosmetic products will not be absorbed effectively into your skin. This might require you to spend tons of money on numerous skincare products, but you won’t get your money’s worth due to the poor skin absorption. By getting a facial regularly, your skin will be prepared and readied to absorb more from your daily skincare routine.

5. TREATMENT

Those struggling with acne or other skin concerns can benefit from regular facials. Our customized facials promote cell rejuvenation, retain hydration and reduce the formation of comedones and blemishes while treating any active breakouts or past scarring. Our team of holistic skin therapists can also customize your treatment to calm redness, even skin tone or reduce the signs of aging.

6. RELAXATION & REJUVENATION

The power of touch, massage, proper technique, and professional products can heal. We call facials “relaxing with benefits”.  Who wouldn’t want stress relief and beautiful glowing skin at the same time?

7. AGE MANAGEMENT & LONGEVITY

In addition to treating skin pathologies, regular monthly facials are a valuable treatment for reducing the signs of aging. Restore your skin’s health and leave it looking smoother and more radiant. Facials help to reduce lines, age spots and improve skin hydration.
